Which bride wouldn't love stepping onto an aisle lined with fresh white roses while nesting a dozen plum eustomas in their arms? The dilemma facing this bride - I have no interest in flowers. In fact, le Fiance is often let off with a stern warning whenever he buys me flowers. To get me to deck the entire ROM venue with flowers out of my own free will is like getting me to drive with my teeth.
There's more than a dozen businesses out there specialising in wedding venue decorations, so the shortlisting job is hell. I have never spent more time on Pinterest building theme boards than I have done so before, because there's simply too many possibilities. Moreover, we began with a blank slate - no idea about which colour schemes to use, the budget, the scale of decorations, etc., which multiplied the work.
Do we want something whimsical?
... or cheery?
... classic?
... or saccharine sweet?
You get the idea, don't you? Anyway, after sifting through several attractive packages and corresponding with some of them (not forgetting that one vendor who has yet to reply me with a quotation even though I've emailed them 2 months ago), we've decided to engage WeddingDecor.sg as our venue florist, judging from their attractive prices and reasonably attentive consultation service so far. From their standard package, we were able to negotiate for exchanges with other items at no additional costs. As for the flowers... I'm still trying hard to negotiate for a no-rose decoration package, because I simply don't want what other brides have.
Anyway, here's a sneak preview of what to expect...
Until then. :)
